How to use the Glossary of Spiritual Terms

 

1. We should always consider the glossary. 

2. Sometimes you may disagree with the term in the glossary and even in these cases a glossary term should be your first option. Meanwhile, please share with us your suggestions and reasons why you disagree with the certain term. We will consider your suggestions.

 3. On the other hand, there are cases when a certain term which we have in the glossary is used in a different meaning. The translator/reviewer should be aware of that and should translate/review these phrases properly according to the context.

Example: The word “reason” has several meanings. One refers to “sense,” and another refers to “cause.” Only the translation corresponding to the meaning of “sense” appears in our glossary. When translating, if this word appears with the meaning of “sense,” translate it according to the glossary, but if this appears with the meaning of “cause,” do not translate according to the glossary.

Examples of the meaning of “sense”:

1. And although your fleshly body is upon earth, you are like someone suffering from mental illness: You have lost your reason, and immediately feel as if you are a corpse, such that you beg Me to terminate your flesh without delay.

Examples of the meaning of “cause”:

1. For what reason did I create the world? For what reason, when mankind became corrupt, did I not completely destroy them? For what reason does the whole human race live under scourges?

Besides, concerning the glossary, please don’t worry about that. 

As for picking the glossary and other words in our book, the criteria are as follows:

(1) The first option is to use the authoritative Christian Bible and the glossary we sent for reference.

(2) The second option is to use the Christian spiritual books which are widely used in that country for reference;

(3) Last option is the authoritative dictionaries in that language.
